Dr. Alex Kent (f)
Doctor
Dr Kent qualified from the University of Southampton in 2012 and returned to the North East to do GP training. She joined Priory Medical group in 2018 and joined the Partnership in 2022, and is now Senior Partner alongside Dr Andrew Duggan. She is the Medical Director at NENC ICB and a GP trainer. Clinical interests include child health, health promotion and lifestyle medicine and holistic care for older people. She is the Veteran Lead for the Practice.

Dr. Andrew Duggan (m)
Doctor
Dr Duggan qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2005. After working in the Midlands and then New Zealand he returned to his native North East for GP training. He has been at PMG since 2013 and became a partner in 2015 and now is Senior Partner alongside Dr Alex Kent. Dr Duggan has an interest in Sports and Exercise Medicine and runs the minor surgery and joint injection services. He is also the Antimicrobial Lead (AMR) for the practice.

Dr. Catriona Rutland (f)
Doctor
Qualifications
MBChB Leeds, MRCGP 2010, DRCOG, DFFP, Letter of competence for subdermal implants and intrauterine devices.
Dr Rutland qualified from the University of Leeds in 2005. She joined Priory Medical group in 2013 and joined the Partnership in 2021. Her interests include dermatology, contraception (fitting contraceptive implants and coils), and diabetes. Dr Rutland also works for Newcastle Hospitals as a Dermatology Speciality Doctor. She is the Significant Event Lead for the practice.

Dr Ian Donkin (m)
Doctor
Dr.Donkin has been a partner at the practice since 2001, his post-graduate qualifications are DRCOG and DFFP. He is the practice lead in respiratory medicine. Dr Donkin is the practice supervisor for the F2 Junior Doctors.

Dr. Janet McCallum (f)
Doctor
Dr McCallum trained at Newcastle University and joined Priory Medical Group in 1996, and is a GP Partner and the Adult Safeguarding Lead for the practice. She is GP liaison for Coble House Nursing Home and has special interests in care of the elderly and vascular disease.

Dr. Hannah Dalton (f)
Doctor
Dr Dalton qualified from Newcastle University in 2009. She joined Priory Medical Group in 2017, becoming a GP Partner in 2022. She is interested in all aspects of General Practice, particularly women's and child-health. She also enjoys training the doctors of the future and one of the GP Registrar trainers as well as being part of the Medical Student teaching team. She is the Child Safeguarding Lead for the practice.

Dr. Judith Wills (f)
Doctor
Dr Wills qualified from Leeds University in 1993. Having moved back to the North East in 1994 she started working at Priory Medical Group in 2001 and became a Partner in 2013. Her interests include diabetes and women's health (including HRT and fitting coils and implants).

Dr. Carly Hire (f)
Doctor
Dr Hire qualified from the University of Leeds in 2014 and worked as a junior doctor in Yorkshire. She completed the last of her GP training at Priory Medical Group after choosing to return home to the Northeast. She enjoys teaching medical students at the practice and also works at Newcastle University.

Dr Alexa Rae (f)

Dr Rae qualified from the University of Newcastle in 2007 and completed her GP training locally in 2012. She has recently joined the practice in August 2022 after working with us as a locum GP over the last five years. Her interests are in women’s and children's health. She is GP for Coble House care home and also supervises F2 doctors and trains 3rd year medical students.

Dr Joanna Stutchbury (f)
Doctor
Dr Stutchbury went to Newcastle University, qualifying in 2014 after doing an extra year in Leeds to do a BA in Medical Ethics. She worked in stand alone jobs in paediatrics and St Oswalds Hospice before completing GP training in the North East and joining Priory in 2024. She has an interest in sustainable healthcare and is a Co-director for Greener Practice North East, as well as the RCGP Sustainability Lead for the North East England faculty.

Dr Dina Ghazal (f)

Qualifications
MB BCh BAO, MSc, MRCGP
Dr Ghazal qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - MUB in 2018 and joined Priory Medical Group in 2024 after completing her GP training locally. She has a special interest in Ophthalmology with experience in working as a Specialty Doctor at the Sunderland Eye Infirmary. She also enjoys teaching medical students at the practice and at the University of Sunderland.

Charlotte Fisher (f)
Physician Associate
Charlotte qualified from the University of Newcastle in 2021. She has been working with the practice since 2019. She has a background in Physiology and a previous degree in this subject. Charlotte sees a broad range of patients in our surgery and will be joining our team providing minor surgeries at our Tynemouth branch. She also works for the PCN as the Clinical cancer lead.

Sophie Urwin (f)

Sophie is a registered paramedic who joined PMG in 2021, having previously worked for the North East Ambulance Service. She qualified via an internship and graduated from the University of Cumbria. Sophie is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Royal College of Paramedics. Sophie has a strong background in emergency and acute care and extensive experience in community visiting. In 2022, she completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice at Teesside University. She is also a qualified non-medial prescriber. Alongside her clinical role, Sophie holds a PGCE from Durham University and has experience teaching further and higher education students within clinical settings. Sophie is also a member of the regional ICB Primary Care Liaison Group, contributing to regional primary care collaboration and development.

Kelly Clark (f)
Practice Manager
Kelly started as part of the Reception team at PMG in 2021. She has since been promoted to Pharmacy team admin lead and then to General Office Manager. In May 2025, she took over as Practice manager. She is responsible for the overall running of the practice, specifically the management aspects e.g. HR, recruitment and complaints. Prior to working at PMG, Kelly has many years of experience working in Primary Care.

Amanda Scott (f)
Admin Manager
Amanda has been part of the PMG team since 2020. She has progressed the ranks, starting as a member of the reception team, and progressing to branch lead then office manager. She became the admin manager for the practice at the beginning of 2026. Amanda has a wealth of experience she brings to the role, both from her time with PMG, and her prior role in the travel industry. She supports the admin team and branch leads, and works alongside David, the operations manager.

Operations Manager
I have joined Priory Medical Group in 2026, I have worked in the Health and Social Care Sector since 2006, moving to clinical management roles from 2012. This has been within the emergency and primary care, health and social care sector and 10 years working in the middle east. Recently completed level 8 diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice, I support the Operations Management at the Practice from HR, supporting the LTC Team, QOF and many more aspects of the operations management.

Joanne Wood (f)
Lead Practice Nurse
Joanne qualified in 2004 from Northumbria University RGN, then worked for Newcastle City Hospitals for 13 years in cardiothoracic surgery. Alongside this she worked as a District Nurse for 5 years in North Tyneside, She became a primary care practice nurse in 2017, and became a member of staff at PMG in Autumn 2025. She has specialist interest in diabetes management and women's health.

Helen Parker (f)
Practice Nurse
Helen qualified from Northumbria University in 2013 as a registered adult nurse. She worked at the RVI in acute medicine before working as a community nurse. Helen joined Priory Medical Group in 2022 as a treatment room nurse, and since completing the relevant training, has been a practice nurse for PMG for over 2 years. Her main interest is childhood immunisations. Her main interest is wound care.

Lauren Bell (f)
Practice Nurse
Lauren joined Priory Medical Group in 2022. She qualified as a nurse in 2011 and worked as a District Nurse in the 8 years prior to joining PMG. Her interest are vast and include complex wound and leg ulcer management, women's health and diabetes. She performs cervical screening (smears) and baby immunisations. She has completed her diabetes module so runs a diabetes clinic and has recently passed her prescribing module and is in the preceptorshop phase for this.

Mrs. Tracey Pearson (f)
Practice & Respiratory Nurse
After completing her registered general nurse training 1985 via Preston Hospital school of nursing she initially worked as a staff nurse in theatres and then gynaecology before joining Priory Medical group as a practice nurse. Her special interests are Respiratory management and cervical cytology (smears).

Victoria Brown (f)
Healthcare Assistant
Victoria joined the practice in June 2006 as a medical receptionist and subsequently became qualified as a healthcare assistant. She takes bloods, blood pressures, measures height and weight, pre diabetic screening, gives flu vaccinations and carries out cardiovascular disease health checks.

Marie Naisbitt (f)
Healthcare Assistant
Marie has worked at Priory Medical Group since 2008, firstly as a medical receptionist and then as a phlebotomist. In 2022 she became a healthcare assistant and is now able to do tasks such as blood taking, checking BPs and BMI and Long Term Condition reviews.

Regan English (f)
Pharmacist
Regan graduated with a Masters in Pharmacy from Durham University and went on to complete her training at Northumbria hospitals/North West PCN. She has previous experience in primary and secondary care and joined Priory Medical Group in February 2022. Regan leads our medicines management team to ensure safe and appropriate prescribing for our patients. Her clinical areas of interest are COPD, women's health, hypertension and epilepsy. She also has a wider interest in healthcare leadership.

Emily graduated from Newcastle University in 2022, following this she completed her training year in community pharmacy. She joined Priory Medical Group in August 2023. Her special interests are Diabetes and Medicines optimisation.

Donna Rymel (f)
Primary care mental health nurse
Donna sees all aspects of primary care mental health. She can offer assessment, brief interventions, and advice about onward referrals. She is not a counsellor and is not intended to provide listening services. She does not prescribe but will liaise closely with GPs if she feels medication is necessary.

Katy Murphy (f)
Diabetic Dietitian
Our dietitian is only available to see diabetic patients. She provides dietary advice and will liaise with GP to recommend medication for diabetes. She works closely with the diabetic resource centre and will recommend referrals for e.g. insulin and other diabetic drugs where appropriate. She does not see non-diabetic patients, nor does she see those who are considered 'at risk of diabetes' or 'non diabetic hyperglycemia' (formerly referred to as pre-diabetes). Katy is on maternity leave between July 2024- September 2025. Rian Horsfall will be offering a Monday morning clinic during Katy's leave.
